2. About Us

ALIG Educational and Welfare Society (ALIG Society) was started in 2008 with a vision to create a platform for conscientious citizens to engage constructively with social issues in India.

ALIG Society believes that a positive change in the society can be brought about with the help of knowledge based sustainable programs in the fields of Education, Health and Skill Development.

In past 14 years of service, ALIG Society has touched thousands of lives and inspired young minds to aspire for a better educated, healthy and skilled India.

To realize its aspirations of being a global leader, 21st century India needs to focus on fundamental social building blocks. ALIG Society as an NGO in India has a focused approach on India’s most valuable asset – its young population. Pursuant to this aspiration, ALIG Society works on three primary verticals viz Education, Health and Skill Development.

In our recent endeavor, we have formed different clubs at schools to response different issues of students. Energy Clubs, Library Clubs, Sports Clubs and Diva Club for Adolescent. These clubs help in leadership, communication, reading and writing and adolescent girls address their issues via Diva Club. Activities like, group sessions, debates, competitions, guest sessions, and many more being organized for student.

Awareness sessions and behavior change and communication activities on Safe water and sanitation, protection from common illnesses, importance of hand hygiene and cough etiquette, healthy eating and of course responsible use of antibiotics will be another good thing with the students and parents.

3. Our different Locations:

ALIG has its Registered office in Jamshedpur. It identifies and works in cities in Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, which need intervention given the poor Human Development Index. These states are chosen strategically which shows low literacy rate, gender gaps are high in every sector and low standard of living due to several socio-economic factors.

The mortality rate of Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal due to communicable disease are 37%, 45% and 48%. Whereas, literacy rate of Jharkhand, UP and WB are 66.41%, 67.68% and 76.26%. Ultimately leading to low income, low standard of living, unhygienic and poor.

4. Targeted Beneficiaries:

These beneficiaries come from marginalized families, minorities and tribals. Their age group lies between 6-14 years school students from Government schools. Another lot of our beneficiaries are girls and women of age between 18-40 years from skilling program.

There is lack of awareness, poor socio-economic conditions lead to non-healthy life style.
